Our Setting

Central Coast Treatment Center offers a warm and inviting home-like environment where clients can feel safe and supported to explore their eating, exercise and body image disorders. Our clients often tell us the Central Coast is in fact their “home-away-from-home.”

For the convenience of our clients who are Cal Poly San Luis Obispo students, we also remain in close contact with the Cal Poly Health Center. This ensures that medical stability is closely monitored and reduces the need for additional outside providers.

Residential Treatment at ‘Ai Pono Hawaii

Founded by eating psychology pioneer Dr. Anita Johnston, ‘Ai Pono Hawaii provides a serene, nurturing setting in which women can be given a temporary reprieve from the stressors of their everyday life that may hinder the discovery of the deeper meaning embedded in their eating disorder symptoms.

Recognizing and identifying the adaptive function of the eating disorder can point one towards the development of life-skills necessary for resolving the eating disorder. ‘Ai Pono’s residential program offers tools to help identify, accept, and express our needs and feelings directly, rather than through our relationship with food and eating.
